Facelift

What is a facelift?

A rhytidectomy, more commonly known as a facelift, is a surgical procedure which reduces the signs of aging by tightening the muscles of the face, redraping the skin of the face and neck, and removing excess fat. The end result is a younger and more rejuvenated-looking face, sometimes appearing up to 10 or 15 years younger.

What can I expect if I receive a facelift procedure at bod:evolve?

If you are considering a facelift in Colorado, we encourage you to schedule a consultation. During the initial consultation, our doctors will spend approximately an hour with you, and will personally evaluate your face to determine the likely results of a facelift. During this time, you can ask the doctor and the staff whatever questions you like; they're happy to discuss any concerns you may have.

Facelift surgeries are performed at our state-of-the-art bod:evolve surgery center and take several hours to perform. Incisions are made at the hairline, following the natural line in front of the ear.

After the surgery, your face will need time to heal. You will be required to wear bandages for the next few days. The bandages are removed several days later, and bruising and swelling may take several weeks to subside. Most patients feel ready to return to work a couple weeks after their surgery.

As a prospective patient, what should I know about facelifts?

Like any surgical procedure, a facelift has risks of complications. Such complications are unlikely and usually minor. During your consultation, your doctor will discuss all possible complications with you; don't hesitate to ask for clarification if you are unclear on any point.

Before a facelift operation, patients must quit smoking for one month prior to the surgery. Smoking can delay the healing process and increase the risk of infection.
